Trolley Track Ruins
This trolley track site was completed as a train track in 1920, after the horse-drawn railroad that ran through the town of Ikuno was discontinued. The track was built with stone walls arching next to the Ichikawa River and overhanging the river. They can still be seen in its beautiful form today.
At that time, an American-made 6-ton electric locomotive on 500mm track ran between the Ikuno Mine Headquarters and the old Ikuno Station. Today, the track remains and is maintained as a walking trail.
The view of the Ichikawa River and the ruins of the trolley track from the nearby Himemiya Bridge is spectacular.
