Former Ikuno Police Station

The former Ikuno Police Station was built in 1886 (Meiji 19) by a local carpenter, Kisaku Sugiura. It is a symmetrical pseudo-Western-style building that imitates a French engineer's foreign-style house in the town. The police crest and the old Ikuno town emblem remain under the eave tiles on the front facade. The triangular pediment, eaves bellows, and two symmetrical doors are characteristic of the building. It is currently used as the District 1 Community Center.
