After graduating from French mine school, Jean Francisque Coignet was invited by a Meiji new government aiming at modernization in Ikuno silver mine to Ikuno mine from France in 1868. I concentrated my energy on an investigation in Ikuno mine and modernization in facilities, endeavored after introduction of gunpowder blow up, construction in an orbit and installation of a winding machine by about 10 years when I stayed at Ikuno and made them reinforce the productivity.
